Virtual Learning

Due to the rapidly changing COVID environment as school gets started, the SDBRF will be offering a full virtual option to our students and families that have concerns about COVID or the mitigation strategies employed by the District.

If the current COVID environment and our mitigation measures as described in the our Fall Kick Off plan are concerning to you in your child’s ability to access their academic content, we are positioned to purchase seats in a virtual program that will provide another option for your child to receive their academic content for the year.  Due to the current timing, there may be a delay in the start date for those students that are selecting the virtual option.

K-5 - the program will be primarily an asynchronous program (on your own schedule) with some synchronous instruction (scheduled times).

6-12 - completely asynchronous instruction (on your own schedule) and your student is expected to engage with the content and stay on pace to complete the courses as outlined.

New to virtual instruction for the 2021-2022 school year:

Instruction may or may not be delivered by a SDBRF teacher, as we are purchasing seats from another program.

If students are not actively engaged and keeping pace with the expectations, this will be marked as absences, and truancy procedures will be followed.

Students will not be allowed to change instructional models inside the trimester.

Short-term student isolation/quarantine access to academic content will happen within the student’s current schedule and classroom.

If you would like to explore this option, please contact Nichole Sullivan, the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the SDBRF...and our COVID Virtual School Coordinator:)  Email: [email protected] phone: 715-670-0265 as soon as possible.
